Training on the introduction of theme on gender-responsive budgeting in the system of professional development, specialization and advanced training of civil servants and local self-government officials

On June 25-26, 2019 a two-day training for trainers on the introduction of theme on gender-responsive budgeting into the training system of professional development, specialization and advanced training of civil servants and local self-government officials was held in Sumy within the framework of cooperation between National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service (NAUCS) and Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service to the Standards of the European Union jointly with the the Friedrich Ebert stiftung in Ukraine and Project “Gender Budgeting in Ukraine”.

Welcoming speech to the participants was delivered by the Deputy Head of the Interregional Department of the NAUCS in Kharkiv and Sumy regions Maksym HAVRYLIUK who wished for fruitful work and pointed out that the integration of gender mainstreaming into the activities of civil servants and local self-government officials has ability to implement the reform of public administration, local self-government and decentralization more efficient and will facilitate its compliance with the European Union standards and good governance principles.

The event was run by the trainers of the Project “Gender Budgeting in Ukraine” Nataliia RIABUSHENKO and Vladyslav IYERUSALYMOV who during a two-day training session familiarized the participants with gender equality issues, gender-responsive budgeting in Ukraine and worldwide, gender budget analysis process and also discussed the introduction of gender equality and gender-responsive budgeting into training programs of system of professional development, specialization and advanced training of civil servants and local self-government officials. 

Representatives of centers for retraining and advanced training of representatives of government authorities, local self-government authorities, public enterprises, institutions and organizations, representatives of interregional departments of NAUCS and higher educational establishments that provide professional training for Master's degree in ”Public Management and Administration” took part in the event.
