The second Steering Committee Meeting of the Twinning Project for the National Bank of Ukraine took place

On July 21, 2021, the second Steering Committee Meeting of the Twinning Project for the National Bank of Ukraine     "Strengthening the institutional and regulatory capacity of the National Bank of Ukraine to implement EU-Ukraine Association Agreement" which is being implemented by the consortium of the Member States Poland and Lithuania.

The goal of this Twinning project is to promote macroeconomic stability by increasing the institutional capacity of the National Bank of Ukraine, as well as by developing a reliable banking and payment infrastructure. 

The SCM was attended by the MS Project Leader - Pawel Samecky, Resident Twinning Adviser - Dariusz Lewandowski and RTA counterparts - Volodymyr Kuchyn and Lyudmila Labur, as well as others. On behalf of the Twinning Program Administrative Office, the event was attended by Tetiana Musiienko, chief consultant of the Twinning Coordination Department of the Program Administrative Office.

The participants of the SCM did not reported of any delays in the implementation of activities or other related problems. The RTA presented the quarterly report for April-July 2021 and the corresponding financial report for this period. Correspondingly, MS Project leader presented the work plan for the next six months (August 2021 - January 2022) and the planned budget for this period. The participants did not have any comments on the submitted report and work plan, so it is expected that the latter will be approved within the timeframe set by the Twinning manual.

All activities under the Project continue to be carried out remotely until October 31, 2021. If the epidemic situation does not worsen, the RTA will arrive in Ukraine in early October. All the events that require the physical presence of the international experts and employees of the NBU are planned to take place from November.

The next meeting of the Supervisory Committee will take place in early September and will be an interim one, which will address the issue of the transition to work in physical attendance mode.
