Business trip of the PAO Deputy Director to Vienna

On March 11, 2010 Natalia Kyrychenko, Deputy Director, Twinning Programme Administration Office started a business trip to Vienna, Austria.

 Ms Kyrychenko participated in the Twinning seminar, which was held in the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs.

Johannes Eigner, ambassador, Head of Department (Enlargement) informed in his welcome speech about importance of the Twinning projects cooperation between Austria and Ukraine. Austria have a wide experience in the European integration process and ready to share it with Ukraine. 

Ms Kyrychenko reported about achievements and perspectives of Ukraine in coordination and implementation of the Twinning projects. Informed about difference of the Twinning implementation in Ukraine and ENP countries, whereas Ukraine haven’t a distinct commitments of the legislation to the EU standards. All of Ukraine's efforts are based primarily on their own expectations and enthusiasm.

Eleonora Nikolaichuk, Sector Manager, Public Finance, Twinning, TAIEX, SIGMA, Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine presented European viewpoint on Twinning implementation  in Ukraine and made recommendations Austrian public authorities in improving of their proposals to Twinning projects.

During the seminar Austrian expressed great interest and readiness to take part in the Twinning project in Ukraine, especially, in social and forestry spheres.

Austria made an offer on participation in 7 Twinning projects, 5 proposals were won in justice, environmental protection - as a chief partner, transport (2 projects) and energy – as a junior partner.
