The seminar on implementation the new anti-corruption legislature and masterclass on defamation was held in the conference-hall of the School of Senior Civil Service

On December 21, 2009, the seminar on implementation the new anti-corruption legislature and masterclass on defamation was held in the conference-hall of the School  of Senior Civil Service.

The new anti-corruption legislature contains the Law of Ukraine ‘On Basics of Prevention and Counteraction of Corruption’ and the Law of Ukraine ‘On Responsibility of the Juridical Persons for Breaking the Anti-Corruption Law’, and the Law of Ukraine ‘On Changes to Legislature of Ukraine on Responsibility for Corruption Breaking the Law’.

The event was organized by the MDCSU and the School of Senior Civil Service jointly with the Commission for the journalists’ ethics.

Mr. Tymofiy Mortenko, the Head of the MDCSU in his welcome word covered the main lines of the cooperation of the state authorities and the society during the holding the informational campaign on new anti-corruption legislature.
The editors of the profile printed matters, in particular, Mr. Volodymyr Mostovy, the Editor-in-chief of the daily ‘Dzerkalo tyzhnia’, Ms. Vira Kosina, the Editor-in-chief of the edition ‘Mistseve samovriaduvannia’, Ms. Tetyana Kotiuzhynska, the President for the Accosiation of the Media-Lawyers made speeches on the new anti-corruption legislature and lines of the its informational supporting.

The second part of the seminar  was devoted to the issues of the defamation, the mechanisms of the keeping the state authorities from the lawsuits, the principles of the freedom of speech and the protection the of the reputation. Ms. Tetyana Kotiuzhynska was main lecturer on this.
