Director of the Center participated in a talk show at a radio station “Nashe Radio” within the framework of the series of programmes “Europe in Hearts of Ukrainians”

On 19 July, 2009, Director of the Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service to the Standards of the European Union, Tetyana Kovtun, participated in a talk show at a radio station “Nashe Radio” within the framework of the series of programmes “Europe in Hearts of Ukrainians”. Programmes are released as a part of the joint project between “Nashe Radion” and the European Commission.   

The talk show was dedicated to adaptation of the Ukraine’s civil service to the Standards of the European Union. Reform of the civil service in Ukraine, best practices of the functioning of civil service in member states of the European Union, legislative framework for the civil service, in particular, provisions of the acting Law of Ukraine “On Civil Service” and bringing it in compliance with the EU standards through the elaboration of a draft Law of Ukraine “On Civil Service” (new edition) were discussed at the talk show. Instruments of the civil service’s adaptation to the standards of the EU - Twinning, TAIEX and SIGMA,  - and characteristics of their application were also examined.  

 Reference: Implementation of the project “Europe in Hearts of Ukrainians” was launched on January 26, 2008. Project’s aim is to spread actual information about the European Union, the activity of the European Commission among young people and to cover relations and joint programs between Ukraine and the EU. The project is designed for 6 months (till August 2009).
