The meeting with the representatives of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) was held

On March 07, 2024, a working meeting between representatives of the Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service to the Standards of the European Union and the Japan International Cooperation Agency was held online to discuss cooperation in the framework of professional training of civil servants in the long term.

During the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities for cooperation in training civil servants as part of the JDS long-term training program. JDS students accepted under the program will be able to acquire expert knowledge, conduct research and establish connections at universities in Japan.

In the context of future cooperation, the Japanese side expressed interest in providing assistance in view of its experience in applying best practices in the civil service. In particular, the partners presented a simplified form of the JDS program aimed at supporting the development of human resources in the civil service.

In her turn, Maryna Kanavets, Director of the Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service to the Standards of the European Union, presented the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine as of September 15, 2023 No. 990 “Some issues of organisation of vocational training abroad for civil servants and local self-government officials’’, which defines the conditions for the organisation and completion of vocational training by civil servants/local self-government officials in educational institutions, other institutions and organisations abroad.

The meeting resulted in the discussion of further areas of cooperation aimed at strengthening the process of organising training and professional development of civil servants through international technical assistance and other forms of international cooperation.
